Welcome to the land of myth.

Meet Matthew Fraser, a man who is, quite literally, older than dirt. Or nearly, anyway. Having successfully survived through everything the world threw at him, he's managed to last 5000 years (give or take a few centuries), an incredible lifespan even by Musings' standards.

His extensive experience has afforded him a wealth of knowledge to rely on, everything from languages (he knows about 20 or so, to varying degrees of competency, most of which are considered Dead Languages these days) to weaponry (from swords to guns, and pretty much everything in between) to schools of self defence to philosophy, and many more besides. He rarely sees fit to share this information with anyone, mostly in the name of self preservation (it's easier to beat an opponent that underestimates you), but it's there nonetheless, just sitting under the surface.

Few actually, truly, know him, and he prefers to keep it that way. It's safer, and less of a hassle. He's seen too much of humanity to really want to concern himself with them or their problems unless he absolutely has to.
